Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 24, 2025
1. Data Collection Practices
Our extensions (VocabAI, WebGrasp) are designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information necessary to provide our services and operate entirely within your browser:
- API Keys: If you use AI features (like Gemini), your API keys are stored locally on your device using browser storage. We never access these keys on our servers.
- Local Storage: Your preferences, saved configurations, and extracted data remain on your machine.
- Diagnostic Data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve performance, which does not include any personal information or the content you process.
2. Google User Data
Our applications integrate with Google APIs to provide enhanced functionality. We specifically request access to:
- Google Sheets: To export your collected data (WebGrasp) or vocabulary (VocabAI) directly to your spreadsheets.
- Google Drive: To create new spreadsheet files for your exports and manage the files created by the application.
How we use this data: We only use these permissions to read/write the specific files you designate for export. We do NOT access your personal files, browsing history, or other Google account data outside the scope of the application's functionality.
Storage & Sharing: No Google user data is ever transmitted to or stored on Codewil servers. All data transfers occur directly between your browser and Google's API. We do not sell or share any information obtained through Google APIs with third parties.
3. How We Use Data
We use the data strictly for the core functionality of the products. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
Our products utilize Google Services (Gemini AI, Google Sheets, Google Drive). Your use of these features is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your local data and API tokens.
6. Google Limited Use Disclosure
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We explicitly state that:
- We do not use user data for serving advertisements.
- We do not sell user data to third parties.
- We do not use user data for marketing or determining credit-worthiness.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Since your settings and API keys are stored locally on your machine, we do not have access to or retain this data on our servers. You can delete all your data at any time by:
- Clearing your browser's local storage.
- Uninstalling the extension.
- Revoking access in your Google Account security settings.
- Deleting the connected Google Sheet (if applicable).
